  • "Security priorities in Europe: matching needs and responses"
  • THIS EVENT IS CLOSED.
Find below the presentations of the workshop.

    • Date: June 23rd 2009 - Rome
    • Workshop time: 9:00 - 18:00
    • The current and convulsed panorama of European Security alerts for new threats yet unknown that the Union will face in the near future. The STRAW project proposes a technology watch on security technologies to inform users about the different threats and requirements in Europe and possible technological solutions from both the industrial and the defense sector. In this sense, the project will organize its first workshop, whose main objectives include:
      • Bring together the appropriate members of the European Commission, research communities, industry, and defense to discuss, explore and to promote collaborative research activities.
      • Report on research priorities in European security from the perspective of these communities.
      • Analyze the achievements, challenges and possible solutions to two topics of high interest such as "Crisis Management" and "Ensuring Law and Order."

Among the guest speakers the workhop includes representatives of the Italian government, the European Commission and relevant European initiatives on Security such as ESRIF and EOS.
